PADI Diving

All our diving is entrusted to a well established diving school here in Almuñécar, with all tuition under the world wide PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) scheme so you can be assured of the highest safety standards as well as the very best quality of professional tuition with the most modern equipment.  The dive centre is conveniently placed in Almuñécar opposite the beach so after the appropriate safety briefings and demonstrations you need only cross over from outside the centre to join the dive boat.

PADI Trial Dives For Beginners

For total beginners the PADI trial session is an ideal introduction.  This is beach based, thus ensuring you have total confidence in the shallowest of water without the complications of  being off shore - or in winter we use the heated swimming pool.  The staff's philosophy is that if you don't enjoy your very first experience then you won't want to continue, so you can be assured that the highest standards of safety and tuition are upheld in order to ensure you have a first rate experience of the amazing world that lies underwater.

After a short introduction to the basic rules of diving, your instructor will help you kit up and take you for a gentle shallow water dive.  All our introductory dives are privately guided to ensure your safety and enjoyment.

Underwater digital filming

If required, we can also easily arrange digital video filming of your dive so you have a permanent record of your underwater adventure.  With the crystal clear waters offering excellent visibility this makes a unique souvenir.

Dive sites

For the more experienced, or perhaps for those undertaking courses, the dive sites used are acknowledged as being amongst the finest the Spanish coast has to offer. These include famous sites such as Punta de la Mona, Marina del Este, Tres Picos etc.  Some of the beginners sites like Tres Picos & Chamboa are perfect at around 8m for beginners, but still offer spectacular scenery and a wealth of fish life.  More advanced dives are offered, such as Punta de Mona 15 - 50m which can let you see Sun Fish & Red Coral, Cerro Gordo at 18m which has small cave or Condesto where at a depth of 24 - 27m you can find the wreck of a wooden ship populated with fish like Dorrados and Sargos.

 PADI diving courses

If you wish, we can also organise the following courses (amongst others) as well as recreational diving and equipment hire.  Please e-mail us for details and current   prices

PADI Open water diver course

This is a full four day course in which you will gain the world recognised PADI Open Water Diver qualification, allowing you to dive with a buddy independent of an instructor.  IN this course you will learn the fundamentals of scuba diving, including dive equipment and techniques.  You will undertake at least five pool dives and knowledge development sessions as well as four open water (sea or lake) dives.

PADI Advanced open water diver

For those clients who wish to expand their qualifications, we offer the opportunity to take a further five dives (three adventure, one deep adventure and the underwater navigation dive) to gain the advanced open water certificate.  With this increase in knowledge and experience you will be more comfortable in the water and will have gained an increased understanding of the underwater environment.

Four Day Course Notes:

We do ask all clients intending to participate in the four day diving courses to review the standard PADI medical questionnaire at the time of booking, as certain conditions may require you to seek medical advice as to whether you are fit to dive.  Obviously any issues are better addressed with your own G.P. before you arrive, as if you are unable to complete the self-declaration form on the day you will be not be permitted to dive.  N.B. there is a minimum age of 14 for the PADI open Water course and 15 for the advanced course.
