Try our great horse riding here in Andalucia while on your activity holiday.
We have a great range of horses in a choice of stables, ranging from sure
footed beginners mounts to more forward going horses for experts.
Riding lessons
on holiday in sheltered outdoor arenas can be easily arranged as well as coaching
at all levels from BHS qualified riding instructors.
Riding from our choice of stables gives you the opportunity to experience from horseback the full range of the beautiful countryside on our doorstep, from the beaches to the sierras in the natural park.
After
a short transfer (less than 30 minutes) from your hotel to the
riding stables, you will be introduced to your guides or instructors and your mount.
Safety hats are provided for all riders, and great care is taken to ensure you
are matched to your choice of horse (see notes below).
Beginners will be taken to one of the outdoor arenas for their first lessons,
while more experienced riders will also spend a few minutes making sure all is
well before setting off for a great ride.
We only ever ride in small groups of not more than 5, so you are ensured
personal attention at all times from your
guide, who will point out the various points of interest as you travel the old
mule trails which crisscross the area. Typical rides into the
countryside will take you through avocado & mango fields, rising thorough
olive groves to some superb views over the glittering blue Mediterranean
towards the African coastline.
See our dedicated riding holidays in Spain web site for information on our great dedicated riding holidays in Andalucia Spain.
The following are included in this activity:
Age limit for riding : 10
Leading in hand available up to 1hr for ages 4 - 10
As part of the
booking process you will be asked what, if any, previous experience you have,
how often you ride, as well as your weight & height. As well as being an important safety factor helping to ensure you are matched as much as possible to your mount, this ensures the right horse for your skills can be reserved prior to you arriving at the stables.
We strongly advise that all clients wear an approved riding safety helmet, and offer them as part of all our riding itineraries. We recommend that you wear long trousers (or lightweight jodhpurs if you have them) for your comfort; shorts are not advised as the stirrup leathers will bruise your legs. A suitable shoe / boot for riding with a small heel should be worn.
We also would advise that, in consideration for our horses, we impose an upper weight limit of 95kg (15st) "clothed with riding boots / shoes" for all horse riding activities - though for a short ride of around an hour or so we could accommodate up to 102 kg (16 st).
Please note that in summer or other hot periods we will not ride mid day as it is too hot for the horses. Therefore at those times we usually ride either in the morning, or in the cool of the long Mediterranean evenings.
Please note that we may occasionally need to change either the itinerary slightly or the days we ride on, due to weather, trail conditions or other circumstances beyond our control.
