One price includes ALL of the following:

• Saturday - We meet you at Malaga Airport (see transfer times) and transfer you to your accommodation, where we will run through your fully detailed welcome folder with all the local maps and guides you need to get the most from your stay.
   
• Saturday - Evening  After settling in we all meet up for welcome drinks & meal in one of the beach bars, where we get a chance to discuss  the week ahead.
   
• Sunday - 1/2 day ride from our nearby stables on the coast to get those legs working after the flight. Depending on ability we may take a beach ride, or perhaps head off inland to explore the trails in the hills with their views over the surrounding villages and sea. Time also to explore around Almuñécar, or perhaps neighbouring Salobreña.
   
• Sunday - Evening  After our riding we meet up in a beach bar and then we set off for an evening's mini-tour of Almuñécar to get you orientated. On this we will see some of the Roman ruins, the castle, old town and a few of the lovely monuments and statues by Miguel Moreno.
   
• Monday - Full days riding from our stables near to La Herradura.  Here you will be lucky enough to able to choose from riding in Spanish, Western or English tack.  The horses are beautifully schooled and you will enjoy a fantastic day ride with your guide, stopping for a picnic lunch with the horses.  Approximately 5 - 6 hrs in the saddle.
   
• Monday - Evening Join us on our fun filled Tapas Trail, where €15 "in the kitty" takes around the old town with its tapas bars and restaurants.  A great way to get to know the historic old part of  town, with it's maze of cobbled streets lined with small shops, tapas bars and restaurants.
   
• Tuesday -  Morning You will be whisked off to the most luxurious spa in Almuñécar to enjoy a thermal circuit.  Start with a warm relaxing Jacuzzi, or let the water jets of the Niagara pool pummel those knots, then move to the Haman steam room. Tradition dictates a cold plunge pool  to boost the circulation, or lose that rough skin with an ice massage, before a sauna.  Finish off with a full body massage by a qualified masseuse to soothe away any aches & pains from the previous 2 days riding!  
   
• Tuesday -  Afternoon Time off to explore the old town in Almuñécar or maybe take one of our local self-guided walks to discover the wealth of Phoenician, Roman and Moorish history that Almuñécar has to offer.  Or simply relax on the beach and soak up the sun... or while away the afternoon in a beach side chiringuito over a refreshing Tinto Verano.
   
• Wednesday -  Daytime  Free time to maybe try one of our optional activities payable locally, perhaps an excursion to nearby Granada to visit the enchanting Alhambra palace and Moorish Albaicin quarter, both of which are world heritage sites as well as the Generalife gardens.  Here you can also visit the cathedral, with the royal chapel where Isabel & Ferdinand are buried.  Or take time to explore more of Almuñécar with its history dating back to Phoenician times and Roman ruins.  The choice is yours!
   
• Thursday -  Back to our beach side stables for a full days riding, stopping with the horses for a restaurant lunch.  We will ride down through the cobbled streets of a sea side Andalucian village, and then make our way either through the sugar cane fields or along the beach to Salobreña with its Moorish caste perched on the cliff tops.  Lunch is at a typical Andalucian restaurant, where we tie the horses in the shade for a well earned break.
   
•  Friday -  Daytime  A morning ride along the mule tracks and trails threading through the mango and avocado orchards in the hills behind La Herradura, with fantastic views over the bay and the sparkling blue sea.  Possibility of a last ride along the beach, or a chance to stop at a horsey bar where we can have tapas in the saddle!
   
• Friday -  Afternoon  A further visit to a fantastic spa to enjoy another relaxing session.  Enjoy a treatment, maybe a body wrap of your choice, a massage or treatment for tired legs.  After your treatment time to enjoy another session in the spa where you will leave feeling both relaxed and invigorated.
   
• Friday -  Evening After any last minute souvenir shopping or sun bathing we all meet up at a beach side chiringuito.  Here we can swap stories and tales over a glass of the local wine & tapas.  Later we may just watch the sun set over the headland, go for a farewell paella, or simply visit the old town with its myriad tapas bars.
   
• Saturday - Sadly its time to leave.  Transfer from your accommodation back to Malaga airport for your flight home.

Notes & Important bits.

Age limit for riding : 10
Leading in hand available up to 1hr for ages 4 - 10

We ask all our guests who are booking for horse riding  to declare their experience level at the time of booking, using our standard definitions.  As well as being an important safety factor helping to ensure you are matched as much as possible to your mount, this ensures the right horse for your skills can be reserved prior to you arriving at the stables.

We strongly advise that all clients wear an approved riding safety helmet, and offer them as part of all our riding itineraries.  We recommend that you wear long trousers (or lightweight jodhpurs if you have them) for your comfort; shorts are not advised as the stirrup leathers will bruise your legs.  A suitable shoe / boot for riding with a small heel should be worn.

We also would advise that, in consideration for our horses, we impose an upper weight limit of 95kg (15st) "clothed with riding boots / shoes" for all horse riding activities - though for a short ride of around an hour or so we could accommodate up to 102 kg (16 st).

Please note that in summer or other hot periods we will not ride mid day as it is too hot for the horses.  Therefore at those times we usually ride either in the morning, or in the cool of the long Mediterranean evenings.

Please note that we may occasionally need to change either the itinerary slightly or the days we ride on, due to weather, trail conditions or other circumstances beyond our control.

Non Riding Partner or Friend?

We have the answer for you as our Optional Activities are available as well so if you've got a non riding partner or friend, we can get them sorted out while you're in the saddle!  Equally, if you fancy a Spa session or a go at Belly Dancing in the evening - or maybe getting into a different saddle on a mountain bike or Quad bike - all our other activities are available and payable locally.
