For family or less experienced riders our guided Almunecar Explore is a great pick, where you can spend a relaxing first day taking in the main beaches, as well as some of the Roman ruins, statues and key parts of the paseos and exploring the Arabic old town.
If there’s anything on like the Easter processions or a local neighbourhood fiesta we’ll let you know and give you all the details. On most Sundays outside of the August town fiesta there is a flea market in the feria. It’s a great way for you to get orientated and find a few short cuts through the lanes in the old town. Also, while you’re in the old town, you can find the shopping lanes for later in the week. At the same time don’t forget to check out the best restaurants and tapas bars in the old town for later in the week!

Typical Family Ride
After breakfast we’ll meet you outside of your accommodation. We’ll then sort out helmets and rucksacks and make sure your bike is all set up for you. Depending on your wishes, you can either take an easy flat local ride along the sea front paseos, or perhaps head inland a bit along a few surrounding country lanes through the chirimoya and mango orchards. Or you can head into the old town to explore. The routes are mostly paved and is a great way to see the local area at the beginning of your holiday. There’ll be plenty of stops for photos etc as you go through the old town, and you can stop for ice creams or a swim whenever anyone wants.
We provide rucksacks for your swimming gear, towels and snack packs, as well as snorkels and masks for your use if we stop for a swim, illustrated route notes, maps – everything you need!
