During the ongoing Covid19 pandemic the following activity updates, restrictions or additional precautions may be applied to the following activities and procedures until further notice.

Please note that this a rapidly changing and evolving situation and is therefore subject to amendment at very short notice. As such it should not be construed as a definitive statement, but is offered as a guide in planning your activities based on our knowledge and understanding of the regulations in force at the time of publishing.

General

Your temperature will be checked on pick up at your accommodation. Clients showing a temperature in excess of 38c &/or exhibiting symptoms of cough, fever, respiratory distress, muscular pain or headache will not be permitted to partake or board transfer vehicles and will be referred to the local medical authorities for quarantine. N.B. As shown in our terms and conditions of booking and as agreed on completing the booking form, all clients undertake to have adequate travel, personal accident, medical and cancellation insurance. You are strongly advised to check that your policy medical and travel cover offers sufficient cover for any additional needs or expenses you may occur in the event of illness, extended quarantine, additional accommodation, delayed travel or any other expenses incurred due or attributed to the Covid19 / Coronavirus pandemic.

All Internal Transfers

All vehicles will have been cleaned and main touch surfaces sanitised. Hands must be cleaned with gel before entry.
Masks must be worn at all times in all vehicles.

Almunecar – All Local Amenities

Please note that entry numbers remain subject to restrictions / closures at all local amenities such as museums, aquarium, tropical bird gardens, water park, bonsai gardens etc.
Masks are compulsory in all locations where a distance of 1.5m cannot be maintained.
Shops, bars and restaurants have strict hygiene protocols to be observed before entering and have reduced occupancy levels, so some delays must be expected.

Almunecar Explore Cycling

The bikes will all be cleaned and disinfected before delivery to your accommodation.
All helmets are quarantined for at least six days before re-use and will be issued pre-cleaned and disinfected. We will not be able to do a “try this one on for size” style fitting service on the day, so we will rely on the correct hat size / head measurements being given on your Activity Planner.
Masks must be worn during the briefing and while helmets, lunches, bike frames etc are being issued.
The briefing will be held in the open air observing social distancing precautions.
The route notes & maps will be issued in electronic form as PDF files instead of a paper based format. These can be downloaded in advance via WiFi to avoid data charges.

Beach Use

At present the main 19km of town beaches can be used between 09:00 and 23:00 unless the red flag is showing &/or a local restriction is inforce.
The life guard service will be operation from 19 June to 06 Sep between 11:00 and 20:00 and will be approx 40 strong this year. They will be supported this year by an 78 additional security staff, to assist in maintaining social distancing and safety regulations, advise on fishing restrictions and support the life guards and town police.
Social distancing of 2m must be observed – if not possible masks must be worn
A minimum distance of 2m between family groups with a max of 2 beach umbrellas per group are allowed – see signage for details.
Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
There will also be revised rules regarding tumbona / sun beds and sun shade rental.

Buggy Safari

Social distancing precautions must be observed during the briefing.
Only members of the same booking group can share a two seat buggy.
All clients will need to wear masks while driving.
Single or “odd number” bookings sharing a buggy with the guide will need to wear masks.
All buggies will have points of contact washed and disinfected (e.g. steering wheels gear change, seats and belts etc) between every tour.
During the lunch stop a separation distance of at least 2m must be maintained between booking groups.
Full hygiene measures as advised will be taken when serving lunch.

Canyoning

The max number has been reduced to 8px for this activity.
If clients are from more than one family then a distance of 2m must be maintained from other families and masks worn
The briefing will be held in the open air observing social distancing precautions.
Masks must be worn at all times during the transfer to the site, during the briefing, any instruction sessions and at any time the safety distance of 2m can not be maintained.
Enhanced precautions regarding safe undertaking of elements such as abseiling instruction are now in force and before all sessions such as rapelling clients will be required to clean hands with gel as well as at intervals during the activity.
Wetsuits, harnesses and safety helmets will be issued pre-cleaned and sterilised and will have been quarantined for 72hrs prior to use..

Catamaran Charter

The minimum number for an exclusive private charter has been reduced from 8 to 6 px.
A safety distance of 1.5 m must be maintained between other families & crew members. if this cannot be achieved then masks must be worn.
All boats will be cleaned and disinfected overnight and carry hand sanitiser, gloves and masks on board for the use of clients.
Full hygiene measures as advised will be taken when serving lunch.
Deposits & payments received for cancelled charters will be refunded or can be taken as credit valid for 24 months.

Caves and Frigiliana

Please be aware that there will be a limit of 120 px per hour (down from the usual 360) and visitors will need to wear masks which will be issued by staff.
You will scanned for temperature and admission refused if it exceeds the limit set by the caves administrators.
Entry will be as individuals, or as family units with a 5 metre spacing between entries.
Hand disinfectant facilitates will be available at the complex for your use.
On the Frigiliana excursion clients will need to practice social distancing and be aware that a reduced number of shops may be open with some craft shops operating maximum numbers policies.

Coastal Paths Walk

The briefing will be held in the open air observing social distancing precautions.
The route notes & maps will be issued in electronic form as PDF files instead of a paper based format. These can be downloaded in advance via WiFi to avoid data charges.

Fisherman’s Path Walk

The briefing will be held in the open air observing social distancing precautions.
The route notes & maps will be issued in electronic form as PDF files instead of a paper based format. These can be downloaded in advance via WiFi to avoid data charges.

Gorge Walk

Access to the gorge has been temporarily suspended by the local town hall due to concerns over safe control of numbers passing through the narrower sections.
An alternative walk with picnic lunch and the Caves & Frigiliana excursion have been substituted until we can restart this walk.
We will recommence this activity as soon as access is granted and the activity can be undertaken in compliance with current regulations.

Horse Riding

Masks must be worn at all times during the transfer to the site, during the briefing, any instruction sessions and at any time the safety distance of 2m can not be maintained.
The briefing will be held in the open air observing social distancing precautions.
During grooming and tacking up you will be expected to maintain a distance of at least 2m from other riders.
If this cannot be maintained, or if you require close support from the staff or assistance in mounting or adjusting your tack, then masks must be worn.
If clients are from more than one family then a safety distance of 2m must be maintained from other families. If this cannot be achieved then masks must be worn.
Riding hats will be issued pre-cleaned and disinfected and will have been quarantined for 72hrs prior to issue.

Masks and Snorkels

If you wish to use a complementary mask and snorkel set while on holiday it will be issued, pre-cleaned and disinfected, on arrival.
All mask and snorkel sets are quarantined for at least six days before re-use.

Rucksacks

If you wish to use a complimentary rucksacks it will be laundered and disinfected before issue.
All rucksacks are quarantined for at least six days before re-use.
You will keep the issued rucksack for the duration of your stay.

Sea Kayak Safari

The briefing will be held in the open air on the beach observing social distancing precautions.
Buoyancy aids will be issued pre-cleaned and sterilised for your use. A tee shirt or similar must be worn underneath.
Paddles and seating areas will be pre-cleaned and sterilised before use. Disinfectant sprayers are available for your use.
During the safari you will be expected to maintain the prescribed social distancing distance from other kayaks.
Launching and recovery – you must accept that the beach team will not be able to assist as normal, so you will need to move your kayak down to the water and back to the storage area at the end of the activity..

Sierra Almijarra Hike

The briefing will be held in the open air observing social distancing precautions.
During the hike you will be expected to maintain a distance of at least 2m from other walkers and if this cannot be maintained then masks must be worn.
Any route notes & maps will be issued in electronic form as PDF files instead of a paper based format. These can be downloaded in advance via WiFi to avoid data charges.

Skiing & Snow Boarding

Changes applicable to skiing and snow boarding activities will be posted closer to the 2020 / 2021 season start.

Snorkelling Safari

The briefing will be held in the open air on the beach observing social distancing precautions.
Wetsuits, Boots, Hoods, Fins, Snorkels & Masks will be issued pre-cleaned and sterilised.
Please be aware that guides and instructors will not be able to approach too close and assist with kit adjustments as much as normal. In order to minimise waiting time in the water we will endeavour to get as much of this done on the shore as possible before entering the water.

Stand Up Paddle Boards

The briefing will be held in the open air on the beach observing social distancing precautions.
Buoyancy aids will be issued pre-cleaned and sterilised for your use. A tee shirt or similar must be worn underneath.
Paddles and boards will be pre-cleaned and sterilised before use. Disinfectant sprayers are available for your use.
During use you will be expected to maintain the prescribed social distancing distance from all other water and beach users.
Launching and recovery – you must accept that the beach team will not be able to assist as normal, so you will need to move your equipment down to the water and back to the storage area at the end of the activity.

Trial Dives

The briefing will be held in the open air on the beach observing social distancing precautions.
BCDs, Wetsuits, Boots, Hoods and Fins will be issued pre-cleaned and sterilised. All equipment for each diver will be issued in separate bags based on the information the diver has provided.
The equipment will be sanitised with special anti-bacterial products everyday before use and stored for 4 days after the use.
Regulator second stage mouthpieces are available for sale for €3 and can be fitted for you if you prefer to use a new one.
All clients must disinfect their mask, snorkel and regulator before use.
On trial dives and courses please be aware that your instructors will not be able to approach too close and assist with kit adjustments as much as normal. In order to minimise waiting time in the water we will endeavour to get as much of this done on the shore as possible before entering the water.

WaterPark

Aquatropic will be opening on Sat 27th June.
There will be enhanced chlorination system running to clean the water (Aquatropic is one of the few seawater parks in the world).
A reduced entry capacity will be in force, along with restrictions on numbers in communal areas such as changing rooms.
Internal payments will be by means of a bracelet system which can be used to avoid having to carry a card or cash.

Welcome meeting, Meal and Activity Briefing

The welcome meeting and activity briefing will be held in the open observing social distancing precautions. If a distance of 1.5m cannot be maintained then masks must be worn.

Due to the need to maintain a distance of 1.5m between persons it will not be possible for the traditional welcome meal on a shared table. For the duration of the current restrictions the welcome meal will be replaced by an extended welcome drinks & tapas meeting, with separate tables for individual booking groups.

Printed copies of itineraries will not be available – you will be supplied with downloadable PDF versions of all necessary information to view on either phones or tablets.
